Motor Insurance

Traffic insurance is mandatory for every motor vehicle registered with the Estonian Motor Vehicle Registration Centre (ARK) and driven on public roads. Traffic insurance covers damages caused by the at-fault party in a traffic accident. The damage may not only involve another vehicle but also traffic signs, fences, and other third-party property. In addition to property damage, traffic insurance also covers the medical expenses of the at-fault driver, pedestrian, or cyclist.

The standard policy is also valid outside the European Union and the European Economic Area, including countries such as Israel, Ukraine, Moldova, Turkey, and others. Since the insurance policy is in Estonian, we recommend carrying an “International Green Card” when traveling abroad. This is the international version of the policy and is provided free of charge by the insurer.
